Backup Failed + Lotus Domino

BasW
Not applicable

For some time we have a problem with Backup exec. The job fails with a message that some files cannot be backed up.

It refers to the following link: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=answers&startover=y&question_box=V-79-57344-3397....

The files that cannot be backed up are:

Unable to open the item C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ntprint.inf_05612b59\Amd64\PSCRIPT.NTF - skipped.
Unable to open the item C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ntprint.inf_05612b59\Amd64\PSCRPTFE.NTF - skipped.

The resolution is deselecting these files under the database selection. But these files are not vissable under the databases.

Anybody any idea?

It is because Backup Exec thinks the files are Lotus Domino databases.

The Domino agent keys off of file extensions so any *.NTF or *.NSF found on a drive or folder selected under the Lotus Domino icon will be attempted for database backup.  The problem is when the agent tells Domino server to open a file that really isn't a database file, we get a return code from Domino and skip the file.  I'd recommend selecting the Domino databases at the Domino data folder instead of the entire C drive... or at very least deselect the windows directory under the Lotus Domino icon.
