You also want to ensure you are meeting the requirements for rights and permissions when backing up Exchange. You can refer to the following article for more information.

The Backup Exec account must have following permissions for backing up Exchange: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH184449

You haven't mentioned the version of Backup Exec that you are using?

Refer to the below article about Exchange Agent requirements.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO24128

Please make note of the below requirements.

1) BE media server is a 64 bit server (Win2008 SP2 64 bit and above)

2) Exchange Management Tools are installed on the BE media server

3) Exchange Agent license is installed on the BE media server.

Secondly, you would not be able to backup the DAG via the Hyper-V host selections. You'll have to add the Exchange DAG as a server in the Backup & Restore tab and then proceed ahead with the selections, backup.

For adding a DAG to the list of servers, read BE2014 Admin Guide Pg#940 onwards.

For Admin Guide refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC7418
