Backup Hang

Hello,

We are running Backup Exe 9.1 rev 4691 on Win2000 SP4 server.
Now the problem is that backup job hangs in the middle of the process and never finished.
I tried to cancel the job, but Job status stays " cancel pending", and the job never be canceled.

I checked job activity and job hangs when it is to backup WINNT\system32\wbem.
I experienced exactly same problems before on different servers, and at that time I rebooted servers.

Is there any way to cancel the job manually such as stop specific service on the server etc other than rebooting server?

consider stopping and restarting the job engine from computer management.

bear in mind that given this type of hang, some people (myself included) have reported the BE Job engine will not stop and a reboot is required anyway

You may recycle the backup Exec services to cancel the job. this can be done from tools>Backup exec services.
