Backup Job Never Completes

Hello,

I run a backup job every night which includes an exchange 2000 server - recently the job never completes and just stays in the 'running' stage. If I try to cancel the job it hangs, and if I try to stop the BE services it takes about 20 mins with messages about not being able to stop in a timely fashion. The only error I get seems to be whilst backing up the exchange mailboxes (which is last in the selection list) - error a000fe09 - The directory is invalid. THe tape drive is a DLT 80/160 internal. Smaller backup jobs not including exchange seem to work fine. BE Version is 9.1 sp3

Any help appreciated.

Hi Adrian,

Are you using AOFO while performing the backups?

Hi,

All fixed - the problem was I hadnt set the alerts to automatically Ok themselves. So, the backup was successful but it wanted me to eject the tape manually or click ok to the tape eject alert.
