Backup Laptop on the move wiht Backup Exec DLO option.

We are running Backup Exec 12- only the DLO option to backup our Desktop and laptops.

Now we are looking into running backup for laptops on the move (Employees are increasingly travelling with their laptops).

Is there an option to add to the DLO so we can backup these laptops.

Please let me know./

DLO can be used on laptops it has options to store copies of data on local harddisk and only copy them to network when laptops are connected - it is also possible to limit the connection location so if they sometimes connect on low bandwidth links that the network copy does not happen until they connect via high bandwidth

Suggest you look in Admin Guides for details on data folder locations and Profile configurations.


There is another option - give your laptop users portable harddisks and use BESR as a local backup product (possibly the desktop edition) - this of course needs a tad more end user interaction and won't help if the disk is in the same bag as the laptop when something happens
