Backup Slowdown

Symantec Backup Exec 11d 7170
Windows Server 2003 RC2 standard SP2
Dell Tapeloader 124T

Our Tape loader failed and we had it replaced.
Ever since then backups take a lot longer. 4h extra on our full backups.

Any way to figure out why?

Ken,

Check if you have used symantec tapdrivers for the new drive (not the microsoft drivers).
Check also thad the service "Removable storage" is disabled.
It is possible that NT backup for windows is playing whit this drive.

Hi,


Use the last drivers verisons.
Test a backup to disk, to be sure that backup exec media server is correctly configured.
Check cables and terminations SCSI.

Update the SCSI driver card.
