Backup exec 2010 R3 V 13.0 Build 5204 - problem with LIVEUPDATE

Hi,

We have BU EXEC installed on a new server running Server 2008 R2.

When we click on liveupdate we get a message : LIVEUPDATE IS NOT INSTALLED. YOU MUST REINSTALL LIVEUPDATE TO RUN SCHEDULED LIVEUPDATES

Our IT "experts" have advised that there is a bug/glitch with this latest version and Liveupdate does not work.

Just wondered if this is 100% accurate plse ?

Here is a tool available to fix LiveUpdate:

It should work fine with BE 2010 (R3).

No, not entirely true. If there was a bug/glitch with the application it would have been fixed with a HF from Symantec's side. I have had this issue on 2 of 29 servers in my environment. I suspect something corrupts LiveUpdate which then completely bombs it out.
