Hi there,

This is my first time here so hello to everyone ,

after googling with no seccess here is the issue that I'm having, which BTW drive my crazyyyyyyyyyy

I'm using Backup exec Version 10 Rev 5484 on server SBS 2003 and here is my selection:

1. Microsoft Exchange Mailbox

2. Microsoft Exchange Public Folders

3.Shadow Copy Components

4. Microsoft exchange information store

The issue start is when I'll like to add one of the folders on my local drive share like  "D:\Company Shared Folder"

I get the following error which direct me to check the information store.....which I know for a fact that I don't have any problem with because when I uncheck the local drive selection and leave as is I get a seccessfull backup.

Here is what I did so far:

1. Resart the server

2. I run scandisk on the local disk

3. I create a new folder with a test .TXT file in D:\  and add that location

I'm still getting the error.....

Another piece of info that I can give you is the backup is to a NAS I didn't not try it with an attached USB disk or tape.

Can wait to get some help from you

Thanks in advanced

Manny

Hi

First of all 10d 5484 is not the updated build, for 10d as 10d 5629  is the latest build , Also 10d is now End of life so I will suggest you to upgrade to higher version from 12.5 or BE 2010 or BE 2012

Regardig your backup you can ensure when backup of Information store is done there is no Exchange maintainence going at that time or Also check for antivirus if it is there on server you can exclude symantec directory from it

Thanks

I there,

Believe it or not the issue was the VSS SQL Services

read this post http://www.absoblogginlutely.net/mtblogarchive/2007/05/0xe00084af-fail.php

Me myself I dsidn't check the version of WSUS that I have but I do know that disabling the service works just fine

Hi Manny,

Don't disable the VSS services if you're backing up SQL in your jobs. BE will most likely invoke that to back up SQL, and you could run into issues.

Rather consider reparing the VSS writers as per the TN below:

Thanks!
