Backup fails on verify

I want to find out why my backups report failed, when they appear to work correctly until the verify finishes and the job shows an error; UN-able to authenticate on a particular server. check rights/pass ...

Why does it not show an error on when backing up ?

Any help is appreciated

Hello,

Try to catalog the tapes again. Does the catalog job succeed without errors? Follow the steps below:

- Go to the catalog folder in Program files\Veritas\backup exec\nt and rename it to catalog.old
- then restart all the BE services

Check if the catalog operation works. Revert if the issue persists.

Please ignore the previous reply. It seems that the job fails during the verify operation. Does it give ypu any error in the job log? Have you checked it without the verify option? Are there any device related errors in the event logs when the job fails? Do revert with the exact message/error that you receive.
