Backup to disk error with HotAdd

Hi all

When trying to backup a virtual VMware server to disk, using BKEXE 12.5, I get the following error message:

"V-79-57344-33935 - The backup-to-disk folder that was specified for this job ran out of disk space. The backup set has been deleted, and the backup-to-disk folder has been paused."

The backup job uses the HotAdd feature, but after about 10 min. after transferring the snapshot to the VCB proxy, the job ends at 1.623.222.015bytes every time with the above message.
This error does not occur when backing up  to tape??

Any suggestions??

Best regards
Jens Nielsen

I just ran Liveupdate on my BKEXEC 12.5 and got SP3 installed.
That solved this old problem.

Hi,

What's the size of your tape vs. the size of your disk?

Hi Craig

I am only backing up 7GB, and the B2D folder is set to 50GB.
My tapes are 200GB, but I have also tried to make the B2D 200GB with no luck.

What's the total size of your VM? If it's trying to snapshot a number of them, you might be running out of disk space.
What are your B2D settings? Can you post a screenshot here?

Hi Craig

I have lots of free space on my VMware enviroment (>300GB).
As I said I am only backing up 7GB.
This is my b2d folder setup.
No matter how big I make this b2d folder the backup job stops at 1.623.222.015 GB  ???
Very strange

OK...drop the number of concurrent jobs down to 1 and re-run the job.

Hi Craig

I get the same result. :(
I will open a case at Symantec.
Thanks for the suggestions.
