BackupExec 12.5 SBS unable to deploy remote agent to Windows XP Pro workstation

Hi All

I have recently upgraded from BackupExec 11d to 12.5
I am not able to remotely deploy the BackupExec 12.5 agent to a Windows XP Pro workstation.
Have checked Firewalls.  Previously this workstation had the BackupExec 11d agent installed and working.

To deploy BackupExec 12.5 I uninstalled existing 11d agent agent and rebooted the workstation
Then tried to deploy the BackupExec 12.5 agent.

I had thought od deploying the agent discretely on the workstation, am unsure how to do this.
Look forward to any guidence on this.

Don't worry, this happens with Server 2003 at times too.
Rather log on to the local workstation, browse to your installation directory, and then install it that way. It shouldn't take too long.

1. Access to Backup Exec installation folder
2. Look for agents folder
3. Copy RAWS32 folder to Windows XP machine
4. Loging to Windows XP machine with domain admin account
5. Open command prompt
6. Access to RAWS folder where it is copied
7. Run setupaa command (if without AOFO) else run setupaofo (With AOFO)
8. After successfully execution of this command check for the remote agent services from services in windows XP.

Please let me know if you have any issues

I agree with the process Abgijit gave.  Some notes from my experience:
-We've had problems running the agent install over the network, so don't skip the steps to copy the RAWS32 directory locally.
-You can also just run "setup.exe" and walk though the installation wizard.  This way you can specify the server/media server the agent should report to.
