BackupExec 2010 R2 on 2008R2 with exchange and iSCSI drive

As the title suggests we have 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010. The iSCSI drive is on another server and is shared. Antivirus is not scanning the drive that we write the backusp to. We are trying to backup just system state and the information store. The backup job sits there for a while creating many (literally hundreds) 2k backup to disk folders and does not really process anything. If I schedule the job, it will always fail. Is there anything I should check or change to resolve this?

Thanks

Let us know the following

1. Does the backup for normal files and folder works ok ?

2. Try backing up system state seperate and Exchange IS in different Job (it not recommended to backup both in the same backup job ) Running the job seperatly will help us conclude if issue with system state or Exchange IS backup

3. Make sure you dont have the AOFO option checked in the backup job properties for the exchange backup job .

4. If you are using Vsphere , check the following

configure the BE Agent on vSphere Centre server as a Deduplication server. The option is under Devices, right click the backup media server and select Configure Remote Agent for Deduplication.
