Hello,

What are you backing up in this job? Is it a local or a remote backup? It seems the job engine service stops during backups and causes the backups to fail. Since when are you experiencing this problem?

Try to follow the steps given below:

1. In Backup Exec go to Tools> Options> Preferences and see if "Display Progress Indicators" is checked. If so uncheck the check box for "Display Progress Indicators" and click on the "OK" button to apply the change
2. Try renaming the "Catalogs" folder.

Stop all Backup Exec services
Go to Root Drive:\\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT
Rename the "Catalogs" folder to "Catalogs_OLD"
Start all of the backup Exec Services
3. If the above steps do not help download an run Microsoft Component Checker and verify there are no miss matched DLL's for MDAC.

Hops this helps. In case the problem persists, do revert with details on the same. However if we do not hear from you within two business days, this post would be marked assumed answered and would be moved to answered questions pool.

Regards.
