Hi,

I'm getting the below error causing my backup jobs to "fail". This is on a single server (SBS 2003) site. Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix this? If you need more info please let me know.

TIA,

Al

Alun,

It appears that either the account running the Backup Exec services are not correct.

The Backup Exec Remote Agent service should be running as Local System account
The other Backup Exec Services should be running as the Domain Admin account.

Also, it may be possible that port 10000 is in use and the connection is not able to be made.

In the job properties, if you go to the Resource Credentials area and run a test all, is it successful?

You can't use loopback addresses with BE agent.   You need to install them with the proper IP Address for that computer.  127.0.0.1 is local loopback.   Launch the remote agent and configure it to the proper address and retry.

If you are running a backup on the local server, it will utilize the loopback adaptor to establish the connection.
You do not need to run VXmon to establish the IP address.

Are you running Windows Firewall and need to add it to the list to allow?
