Backups no longer run

I am getting the following error

Job ended: Friday, May 13, 2005 at 3:21:05 PM
Completed status: Failed
Final error code: a00084ca HEX
Final error description: The data being read from the media is inconsistent.

Final error category: Backup Media Errors

I have tried new tapes and the diagnostic says that the tape drive is OK.

Can anybody suggest something else that could cause this error.

Hi,

Clean the tape drive using a cleaning media.
Update the firmware of the drive.
Disable the Removable Storage Media service if running.
