Backups over VPN

Jon_Fore
Not applicable
I have everything installed, and the server is grabbing data from the local network just fine. I do have one client machine that is remote and connected with a full time VPN. This client was able to join the backup group during installation, but the server does not see it, so I can not configure it for backups. Can someone drop me a clue as to how to make this work?

Regards,

On your remote client machine, create our "GATEWAY" registry key, as outlined in the following technote:

http://support.veritas.com/docs/272958

Use the IP address of the Continuous Management Server as the "Value data" entry (Step 11).

Then, restart the "Backup Exec Continuous Protection Network Helper" service. Choose "Yes" when prompted to restart the dependent services.

Should a firewall be involved, open these ports: http://support.veritas.com/docs/268372
