Best way to backup Exchange 2003

What is the best way to backup Exchange server 2003?

Under Seletions there is:

Microsoft Echange Mailboxes
Microsoft Public Folders
Microsoft Information Store (which has the above as well)

When AFO is on it copies inform,ation with the MIS section (is this redundant?) b ut with AFO on I get

OFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Yes.

I am trying to find a howto on best backing up Exchange. The guy who used to do this never had it setup correctly and I want to make sure it is

runn BE on the actual server

Hi,

Create two different backup jobs - one for Exchange including Information store, Mailboxes, Public Folders without AOFO.

You may create a second backup job for the local drives and Shadow Copy Components with AOFO.
