David_Woodcock

Just upgraded from 9.1 to 10.

Machine now every 5 mins or so will stop the browser service
and cause:

Application popup: benetns.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x20504354" referenced memory at "0x20504354". The memory could not be "read".

Faulting application benetns.exe, version 10.0.5484.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

Tried everything I can think of, single nic, using wins, bound only to 1 protocol....

Help,!

Follow Both steps:

1) Repair backupexec database
How to run a database repair in VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.x for Windows Servers when the original database is found to be inconsistent
URL: http://support.veritas.com/docs/265180
Once the database is repaired move on to next step to repair backupexec installation.

2) Repair Backupexec installation:
Repairing VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.x for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/253199
Once the repair operation is done, check the result.

I get the same error but it happens every hour exactly. I tried rebuilding the database but it does not work. I uninstalled and re-installed and I get these errors before I even get into the program.

Is there anything else I can do?

Did anyone get a fix for this issue. I get the error in my system logs and the service fails?

When I was originally having the problems I had my DB on a different server than Veritas. I believe I reinstalled the application from scratch and had it install MSDE on the local machine and it has worked since. A little annoying but better than the service failing...
