Can BE 2010R3 restore from 2012 backups?

Can a Backup Exec 2010R3 installation restore from tapes made by a BE 2012 server?

In the past, you could do restores from an older build.  However, it was only basic file restores.  No GRT restores.

I would try it and see what happens.  The offcial symantec stance is often different from reality.  What is "not supported," if often just Not Tested.
