Can is use the regular windows server agent instead of File server agent for file server

I've noticed that when my individual shares show up as below, I can't actually chose them unless I expand the C:\ drive and THEN pick them from in there (seems to defeat the whole purpose):folder selection_1.png

 My question is (and i'm trying it now) can't I just use the windows computers and servers client? I don't have the misleading picture above of individual shares that are actually empty.

Shouldnt be an issue. Have you tried this?

i'm trying it now. I still want to know (and I may have missed this) why it shows the individual users available on the left pane but they are empty. Do you have any ideas? is that by design or something as it's very confusing.
