Can't catalogue USB2 HDD

I'm trying to restore data from a USB2 External HDD.

I have a fresh install of Backupexec 10 (with SP1) and have added the disk as a removable backup to disk device. I can inventory the drive fine. The media appears in "import media" and it all looks fine.

However when I try to catalogue it the job fails immediately with the "physical volume library drive not found" error.

The USB disk is definitely working fine - I can read & write to in in windows no problem and Backupexec recognises it ok. It just wont catalogue.

Any suggestions?

As a test you could

- Running a small backup job on the USB drive.

- try cataloging the media using Ntbackup.exe
