Cannot Recognise Media

Currently I'm using Symantec Backup Exec 11d to backup files to my HP Ultrium3
1/8 Autoloader. I have have tested the backup and restore successfully. But the problem is when I backup files to a media on slot 1 and later export the media from slot 1 and import it back to slot 2, then i tried to restore or backup the files from the slot 2, it will say that i have a unknown media or no media present even though I have label the media earlier.

Then the only way to get it working back was to label the media again but then all the data will be lost. Please help me.

From what you describe, you should only need to run an inventory on the slot you now have the media in. If you are using the import command, be sure you check the box 'Auto-inventory after import is completed' to do the inventory during the import job. Backup Exec doesn't care where the tape is, only that it is 'online' and available to read from.
