Cannot get Backup Exec 12.5 to accept S/N for 12.0 AWS

I am trying to get backup Exec 12.5 to accept a serial number for BE 12.0 "Agent for Windows Servers" I am looking at a Symantec document that states: "The backup Exec 12 remote agent for windows is supported  but not recommended for use with backup exec 12.5 for windows media servers." Well when  I enter the 12.0 AWS S/N in the 12.5 app it displays "The license you have entered is for an older version....

I am fixing to uninstall the 12.5 Core App and Install 12.0 Core App. so that I can get around this, as I would think that backup Exec 12.0 for windows, Media Servers will allow me to use the 12.0 AWS license number.

I am not going to upgrade to 2010 nor buy the 2010 AWS license and downgrade it to 12.5.

Does anyone know how to get 12.5 to accept my license for the 12.0 agent?

As backward compatibility Be 12.5 can run a backup job using BE 12.0 remote agnet installed on some server.

You would need BE 12.5 license for remote agent though.

And BE 12.0 media server will accept BE 12.5 remote agent for windows license key.
