I was having problems cataloging tapes. I am running Backup Exec 9.1 SP3 on Windows 2003 server. I try to catalog a tape that has a truncated catalog saved to disk and BE will not allow me to re-catalog this tape. It continues to use the saved copy of the catalog. My solution was to delete the saved catalog from BE and the re-catalog the tape. This seems to work fine but according to all Veritas documentation this shouldn’t happen. You should be able to re-catalog a tape and it should run a full catalog and not use the saved one.
