Catastrophic failure

I get the below message when i try and run the backup.
I have backup Exec ver 9.1 rel 4691 running on a sbs 2003 srv.

It failed after running for 17 minutes

Backup - \\ADESTSVR
OFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS).
OFO: Snapshot error (0x8000ffff): Catastrophic failure


Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
