Change SQL Server sa Password

I am attempting to use the BEUtility.exe and support document 254374 "How to change the SQL Server system administrator password...." to change the sa password on my Backup Exec v10d / Windows 2003 backup server. I am logged onto the server as local administrator. I run the "Change SQL Server Password" applet and it starts OK, but ends with the following msg:

"Performing change SA password for BKUPEXEC SQL Sever instance.
Error: Unable to change password.
Change SA password for server VSACXXXX ended with errors."

I have attempted to run the applet with the SQL instance running and not running. Both ended with the same error.

Could someone please give me a clue, here. I've spent lotsa time trying to track it down in the docs with no luck.

TIA, mrchongo

Problem solved by Symantec tech support. The "old password" was the default password. The default password is null. I was trying to change it with the misunderstanding that the "old password" was password. Silly me. Good to go.
