Compression on DLT1 Drive

I have a Benchmark DLT7 Autoloader with a DLT1 drive. I set the backup jobs to use HW compression and I am getting about 37Gb on a DLT-IV tape and about .9 to 1 ratio. These tapes are supposed to hold close to 80Gb compressed. Can anyone advise me on how to get better compression? My data is typical server data, shares, etc.
