Corrupted message in Exchange Mailbox backup

I am running Exchange Server 2003 and Backup Exec 9.1.
My backups keep failing due to a corrupted message in the administrators inbox. This is the error message:

Backup - \\SBS1\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes WARNING: "\\SBS1\Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes\Administrator Top of Information StoreInboxŒ〰〰〰〰攷㐸攳づ㐳㉢慣挴㌹㈹㌱㌱㑡㔳昶㐰㜰〰〹㉦㝢つ搸愶㥢㠴挹㥣㘱㐶搴て㜲つ〰〰〰〰戳㕡〰〰〹㉦㝢つ搸愶㥢㠴挹㥣㘱㐶搴て㜲つ〰〰〰㌰㐷㝦〰〰Undeliverable:Mail delivery failed" is a corrupt file.
This file cannot verify.

When I go to the administrators inbox to delete the message I cannot find it. I am not sure if this is a backup exec issue or an exchange issue.

How do I fix this error?

Hi Derek

Have you tried emptying the deleted items to check if the issue persists?

Try disabling any antivirus scans during the backup of this single mailbox as a test..
