Creating IDR from original WIN2K SP1 Disk after system upgrade to SP4

Question?

I made an IDR disk for my WIN2K SP4 Small Business Server. When the IDR wizard asks for the Windows 2000 installation disk, the only one I have is from the original installation, which was SP1. The upgrade to SP4 was performed from a download and I have the compressed files on CD. Is it necessary to uncompress the SP4 files, save to disk and use that disk to make the IDR?

Thanks

Hello,

You can use the OS CD with SP1 but the full backup should be taken after installing SP4 so at the time of restoring it will boot using the Win 2000 SP1 CD but as the recovery process continues it will update the SP1 to SP4
