Creating a Selection List from a previous Backup

wjtate
Not applicable

Problem:

I migrated our old Domain Controller to a new server today, had someone help.  The person helping did not think about doing a text export of the backup selection list prior to trying to migrate the Symantec Bakup Exec Software and caused the selection list to be wipped, which now meas I have to re-create.  The problem is the selection list was originally setup before the company hired me as their IT Director.  We basiaclly have mulitple servers with remote agents and mulitple data applications.

Question:

Is thier any way to create a selction list from a previous good backup?  I would even settle for a text document of files/directories being backed up that could be aetr7acted from a previous godd backup through the catalog process or some other method?  HELP!!!!

Everyday BE runs a database maintenance and creates a backup of the Backup Exec database.

The file is located at X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\DATA\BEDB.DAT

If you have BEDB.DAT file on your tapes then you can recover all the jobs, selection lists,

policies and settings.

You can use CATTOOLS to dump the catalog of the backup job
