DLO backup mydoc. desktop, favorites

Trying to setup a profile that backs up the users My Documents, Desktops and Favorites but it only seems to backup My Documents folders. I have added the profile to the automated user assignments. Using version 9.1 DLO any help would be greatly appreciated. I like to do this from the DLO console so no user intervention is required.


Profile Information:

Name: Favorites-Desktop-MyDocs
Enabled
Limit bandwidth 500
Checked My Documents, Desktop and Favorites in backup Selection
User setting: Display only the system tray icon
Schedule: Whenever a file changes is checked

Hello,

As you have selected My documents and favorites for backup and it is only backing up My documents, are you getting an error which states that there is aproblem backing up Favorites?

Please elaborate the steps you have followed.

Will this work under Backup section, Folder to backup
Add something like this path? Are there any variable names such as below?

C:\Documents and Settings\%currentusers%\Desktop

I need allow DLO manager too automatically select the currents users desktop and favorite.

if we have understood here correctly you want that during the backup (backup tab) only the desktop folder or favorites folder is selected for the users?

I want to back up My Document, desktop and favorites folder at the same time. I installed my DLO agent on the remote PC were the user can’t access or make any changes to the setting. When ever DLO does the back up it just back up My Document and nothing else.

Hello,

create a new profile, assign automated user assignement and give the user DLousers group rights and then use that user to logon to the DLO client.
Then verify if you can backup My documents,desktop and Favourites simultaneously.

I created a new profile called notebook under the Backup selection I selected the following.
My Documents
My Desktop
My Favorites

Added that profile to automated Users Assignments
Added the profile to a users

Still did not back up My Desktop or My Favorites

Any other ideas?

Hello,

Please perform the following steps:

1. Go to the profile Properties > Backup Selection tab
2. In Type a folder name add " %CURRENTUSERPROFILE%" it will take the default profile.

3. Under the select a pre-defined foler select the folder that you want to backup

4. This will create a Backup Selection which you can now backup.

I tried and I think I did it correctly, but it won't back up Desktop or Favorites. However it does backup My Documents. Here a 2 screen shoots do these look right?

Hello,

Please put the DLO agent in the debug mode and revert with the relevant part of the log.
Follow the steps given below to put it in debug mode.
1. Exit the DLO client, select File | Exit

2. Open regedt32 or regedit

3. Expand HKLM\Software\VERITAS\Components

4. Create a new key called DebugStream

5. Create a new key below DebugStream called DLOClient.exe. The (default) string value data should be 0xE0FFFFFE.

6. Create a new key below DebugStream called DLOClientu.exe. The (default) string value data should be 0xE0FFFFFE.

7. Create a new key below DebugStream called DLOConsoleu.exe. The (default) string value data should be 0xE0FFFFFE.

8. Start the client

Once the client fails or generates an error, and the following logs will be generated.

a. DLOClient.log
b. All *.dmp files

Do revert with the results.
