I am currently running weekly full backups with daily differentials. On the weekend (Fri-Sun) I duplicate my full backups to tape from disk and during the week (Mon -Thu)I backup straight to tape.
My first problem is that for some strange reason Backup Exec wants to duplicate the daily differential jobs. I've not configured it to do this. It is only suppose to backup the end of the week full jobs. I therefore need help in understanding what is going on here.
Secondly when the duplicate does try and run on the daily diff job I get a media problem where BE will send an alert asking for media even though there is media in the correct media set that can be written to. I've double checked my settings for this so i'm puzzled why it can't see the media in the media set and use it.
My full jobs run error free. Is it possible that this is a bug in the application or am I doing something wrong here??
