Domain Controller Server crashes after unsuccessful backup

I have 2 domain controllers in my network “synchronized”.
Both are running windows server 2003.
The Backup Exec 10d was installed on the 2nd DC 3 days ago.
There is a full backup scheduled to run every day at midnight that backs up lots of things including the 2 DC Servers “entire C drive and shadow copy components”.
Today morning, I found that the PDController Server “1st DC” was hanging.
I restarted the Server but during the “starting Windows 2003” screen, it hangs.
I tried safe mode & last known good configurations.
The same thing happened; it hangs before getting into windows.
The backup job report stated: “Unable to initialize remote agent” on PDContoller.

Here is the full error report:
Server - PDController
WARNING: Media servers cannot completely protect remote Windows-based servers or workstations unless the Backup Exec Remote Agent is installed and running on each remote Windows-based server or workstation to be protected. Data loss can occur if the Remote Agent is not running while backing up remote Windows-based computers.
Please refer to the documentation or online help for more information.
Unable to initialize Remote Agent

Can I make the Bakcup Exec restore the files and shadow copy components without formatting and reinstalling the windows?
There are applications and configurations on the PDController that I don’t want to loose.
