Dump Database does not create a bedb.bak file

Ron_Russell

When I follow the procedures to do a dump database (using BEUTILITY) it completes successfully but there is no bedb.bak file.  This happens on my windows version 12 and 2010.  The only thing I can think of: is it becasue I use an external SQL Server for the databases on both versions.  If so, how can I do a dump database.

If  BEDB is on differnet sql server, you may try running SQL instance using backup exec system account.

Are you backing up the SQL server databases on which BEDB resides, If so, then I think you dont require the dump database.

But in case you still do, I can think of only Running SQL server maintenance plan to create one.
