E-mail notification failures and hotfix installation failures

We currently have 12 jobs (created using policies) that run each day. I've configured SMTP notifications and tried selecting the notification and include job log options in both the Policies and Backup Selection Lists. Each day we get 5 to 6 notifications from different jobs, but never are all 12 notifications sent.

Also, when attempting to apply hotfixes 7 and 8 I receive the following message:

The wizard was interrupted before VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.

Any help with these issues would be much appreciated.

Follow the steps:

1) Once you have specified the notfication in the policies you need not do that in the selection list.

2) Go to Tools---email and pager notifications and remove the SMTP settings completely.


3) Re-cycle Backupexec services.


Test the Notfications.

Note:Make sure under tools---options---joblogs--it is set to INCLUDE summary information only..


This should help.





Incase the problem persists.Repair Backupexec isntalaltion.

Once this is done reconfigure the settings, But i guess this will not be required.
