Hiya,
I have 6 backups jobs, all of which have duplicate jobs set to run once the backup is complete. However, one of the duplicate jobs is always failing with error code E000848C on it's scheduled run, but if I do 'Rerty Job Now' it succeeds every time.
This job always errors at very similar elapsed times, but always exactly the same byte count.
Weird. Any ideas? Source and destination are both deduplication storage folders (on seperate servers).
Thanks

It seems you are facing the issue documented in following technote:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH163146
Workaround:
Schedule the jobs in a way that more than one Opt-Dupe jobs having GRT resources are not running at the same time.
This issue will be resolved in the next Deduplication option hotfix. If the workaround is not feasible then you can contact Symantec support and request for pre release version of the fix. However that is only recommended in case you are severely affected and workarond is not an option for you.

Try re-creating the backup job again
Also have look on the media mangement setting , under tools options Media Overwrtire default options is Overwrite scratch media before overwriting recyclable media contained in the targeted media set ,Change it to Overwrite recyclable media contained in the targeted media set before overwriting scratch media

Nope, still not working despite re-creating both the backup and duplicate jobs, as well as changing the overwrite default options.
If it helps, this is a domain controller backup job, so not sure if it doesn't like duplicating DC backups. But then that doesn't explain why it works OK everytime I retry the job.

I am still getting this error with my Domain Controller duplicate job.
Every other duplicate job works OK so it must be that you can't duplicate domain controller backups in an automated way as it's weird that I can manually re-run the duplicate job without error. Shame.

Try to have a larger time interval between the end of your originale job and the beginning of the duplication job...

How can I do this?
My duplicate jobs are set to run as soon as the backup job finishes and I can see now way of having some sort of delay after the backup job.
