Dear Sir,

Tape auto ejects when restoring using IDR on a duplicate machine with following configuration:

Hardware
DELL 2850 server
Power Vault 100T - DAT-72, DDS,

Software:
Exchange 2003 with SP1
Windows 2003 with SP1
Veritas 10.0 with SP1 with all critical hotfixes
Agent: Advanced Open File agent
Agent: Exchange server agent
Agent: Remote Agent

Following software restored successfully including OS, Exchange and Veritas software but ejects the tape before restoring Exchange 2003 database and asked again for the same tape with same media label, on re-inserting the tape it again ejects it asked for the same tape on same port with same media lable.

In this case we have to restarts the machine and after logon, it shows the Veritas application and Exchange System manager installed but with empty MDBDATA folder means no exchange storage files.

We try out the IDR's Automated, Assisted and Manual options but till date no success.

Exchange, DC and Veritas base software installed on the same machine.

We used Bootable CD with ASR files on it
SCSI RAID driver on floppy
DR update floppies
Full backup on Tape

Waiting for your reply.

Kind regards,
Saeed

Are you restoring the Exchange database on the same computer?
Were your DR files updated after backup?
Did you use the Advanced Open File Option during the Backup?

But problem is not resolved yet,

I am restoring the database on the offline duplicate server which is an exact replica of the first server.

Yes I update the DR files after taking the full backup which is 100% successful

Yes I used the Advanced Open File Option during the backup

Problem is that it didn't restore the MDBDATA folder on duplicate machine.

Waiting for your reply eagerly.

Best regards,
