ESX 3.5 backup fails - Cannot run the VMware VCB command 'vcbmounter.exe'.

Hi,

We have a backup problem that I'm told used to work but now isn't. Unfortunately can't see how long it hasn't been working for (Logs don't go back far enough). The problem we are getting is that our virtual machines aren't getting backed up, and the report is giving us a "Can't run the VMware VCB command 'vcbmounter.exe'. Ensuer that the VMware VCB framework is installed. We are using BE 12.5, ESX 3.5 update 5, and VCB Framework version 1.5.0.4948 build- 150805.

The framework is installed to the default directory but I can't see why it isn't working. I've researched the problem a bit and have followed instructions given on other threads in this forum without success. Links of the other threads are below.

I've also tried copying the exe's to the system 32 folder in case it was looking for the command in there. No success. The only thing I haven't tried is re-installing the framework, but I can't do that as I haven't got the installer, and haven't got the license details to allow us to download it from the vmware site. We do have a license as I can check our license details in VMware infrastructure Client under administration > Licenses. Is there a way to get the license details for VCB framework from the infrastructure client or another vmware package?

Unfortunately my experience with BE is limited and I've had to learn it on the fly, so please feel free to start basic. Any help is much appreciated.
