Edit or Copy Selection?

Is there a way to edit or copy a selection without having to recreate the whole selection?

We want to change the date in our basic backup. When we do so it wipes most of the selection and the whole job has to be reselected.

Also it doesnt seem to be possible to cut and past the text view of the selection statement.

Any help appreciated!!

You can open a selction list, and then save as a new name then edit the saved copy, but that's about all you can do. There is no real copy or import function

Thanks - thats helpful - at least we wont risk destroying the original - is it possible to edit a piece of the selection without losing it? We are doing an incremental backup starting from a certain date. We will want to change that date at intervals. Is there a way to change the date without having to rebuild the selection?

Not sure exactly what you are asking

Incrementals are based on whether the Archive Bit has been set. If it has then the file is backed up and the bit reset. (Differantials are similar, but the bit is not reset)

If you are backing all files changed after a given date, then you'll need to re-save the Selection List every time you change the "as of" date.

If you are backing up files changed in the last xx days/weeks, theh the list should not have to be changed
