Empty Exchange Backups

Our Exchange (Exchange 2003) backups have been completing successfully (according to the log) but if you go in and look at the information available for restore, it appears to be empty.

The Job reports that just about 50GB of mail have been backed up from the exchange server, however, in the restore window Those numbers don't manifest. When the date (in this case last night) is selected I can see in the bottomw pane that a "Snapshot Full" was the method and the size is 2,048KB. When expanding the MAilbox Store to view available accounts and mail for restore, it simply states "none" in the right pane.

Job information:
Backup Method: Full - Back up files - Using archive bit
AOFO: Automatice - Allow VSS to select the snapshot provider
Exchange Backup Method: Full - Database & Logs (flush committed logs)
Enable the restore of individual mail messages and folders from Information Store Backups
Perform consistency check before backup when using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service snapshot provider.

Backup Exec 11d Service Pack 1
Using a special Domain Administrator account for exchange backup.
