Erase Tape's Pre Command....

Hi All, 

I need a Pre Command before the backup job starts which will do a quick erase of all the tapes in the tape library.... 

Does anyone have a list of the commands I can run... (not generally good with scripts etc)

Hmm I would be interested to know if the content of that article works as the last time I looked into that (some time ago) because the backup job chooses the tape it will use before the pre-command runs then the library is already locked and the utilty job to erase the tape from a pre-command is queued behind the already active backup job.

However the big question is why do you need to erase the tape - an overwrite job will do that for you so no need - admittedly you might have to sort out your Media Set Overwrite protection
