Error: "the login credentials may be incorrect"

Hi,

each day we make a backup of our netware server 6.5 - SP4 with BE9.1 Rev 1158.4. The automatic backup (initiated on the server) is ok.

If i want to make a backup initiated on my pc (W2K-SP4 with BE9.1-Rev1158) i receive the following error message in the protocol: "Could not connect to .Netware File system//SYS: The login credentials may be incorrect.
All selections for this device will be skipped"
I receive the same error message if i want to restore something on my PC client.

BUT i can perform all these actions on the server in the BE-Admin-console. Backup and restore work fine if i start them manually.

There must be an error on the client.

Any ideas?

Thanks & best regards,
Berhard

Hello,

Does the problem occur with scheduled backups? Recreate the job and test the results.
Also perform the steps below:

-Go to the system console and run:
BESTOP
SMSSTOP
Delete all TSA$TEMP files in SYS:\SYSTEM\TSA\
SMDR NEW Y, N, N, N
BESTART

Run the job after this and verify the result. If the issue persists, revert with details.

Note : If we do not receive your reply within two business days, this post would be marked ‘assumed answered’ and would be moved to ‘answered questions’ pool.

Hello,

The problem does not occur with scheduled backups.

The problem must be on the client.
On the server console all operations work fine!

Hi,

i have found a solution for my problem.

There was a difference in the following menu settings:

- on the server: In the admin console under
Options – General
default: 'USE AUTO LOGIN' and

- on the PC client: In the admin console under
Tools – Options – Administration Console – General
default: 'use password database'
=> there was a difference

I changed the entry 'use password database'
into 'USE AUTO LOGIN' and everything works fine.

The two menu settings must be the same!

Regards
