Error restoring Event Log

My event logs are backed up under Computername\Shadow Copy Components\Service State\Event Logs. When I attempt to restore to a redirected path, I receive and error: "a000848c - Unable to attach to one of the drives."

I changed the Resource Credentials, Server login account, and Path login account to all use a domain administrative account that has full rights to the target server; and the destination folder exists. My Backup Exec server is Windows2000 and the client is Windows2003.

What could be wrong?

Hi Steve,

Have you backed up the entire system state and just trying to restore the event logs?

If you are then you need to restore the entire System state and not individual items.

Yes, I routinely back up the entire system state along with our data. It's very disappointing to find that I cannot research old event logs without having to restore the entire server back to an earlier state. :(
