Gracias,

...after 60 days you will have to activate your license. If not, no backups of Exchange, and it will grey out the option to reinstall/uninstall the license.

in BE, if you go to Help --> About --> License Information, you will see what agents are installed in trial mode/active mode, and how many days are left of the trial.

Are you using Backup Exec in Trial Period? If yes then after 60 days you will get a

prompt to enter the license key. To backup the Exchange server you need to install the

the license key for Exchange agent and remote agent on the Exchange server.

Hi there,

The agent allows you to back up/restore Exchange data while it is live. You can do a GRT backup/restore, which means you can restore individual items.

Without the agent, you need to stop Exchange's services, and then do a backup of the flat file before manually flushing the logs. Once done, start up the Exchange services again. This means downtime for your users, and it makes backup/restoring of data a lot more difficult.

If you want further information, download the Backup Exec 2010 R2 Admin Guide...it goes into a lot more depth explaining how it all works.

Thanks!

During your trial period, you have access to the full capabilities of the agent, i.e. you can backup and restore your Exchange.
