Event ID 33152 in BU Exec. 10

353020305
Not applicable
I have just installed Backup Exec 10 on a Dell server running Windows 2003 Server Standard. After successful install and reboot, The Event viewer registers several stop errors (Event ID 33152). The event viewer continues to log these events every view seconds until the log is full. BU Exec opens normally and the tape device is found and seems to function correctly. However, the stop error continues to occur.
Please advise.

I would check and make sure that you have the latest device drivers and firmware revisions for your SCSI card and tape drive. I would also check the SCSI cable and connectors for physical damage. And one more thing you might check is the SCSI ID that you are using and make sure there are no conflicts with other SCSI devices.

Are there any related alerts in Backup Exec? Have you successfully performed a backup job to the tape device?

Hi,

What is the description of this event ID?

Which device are you using? Is it compatible with BE? Refer following compatibility list:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/274347.htm

Install latest veritas drivers:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/275676.htm

Disable Removable storage media service.

Are you getting any event id 7, 9, 11 or 15?

Check this from eventid.net:

As the answers there reveal, this could very likely be faulty hardware.
