Im seeing this error in the logs - backup exec 10d:

Event ID: 57348
* Performed database consistency check for BEDB database
Maintenance has failed: 11, Check database failed
Total elapsed time: 00:00:17

I found an article http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/279751.htm on this mentioning it could be due to a conflict between when the backup runs and database maintenance runs at the same, but this is not the case. the backup runs at 9PM and finishes hours before the database maintenance begins. Another thing it mentions is that the backup exec database consistency check fails during the database maintenance. This is what I believe is happening.

In another article https://forums.symantec.com/syment/board/message?board.id=115&message.id=10152 a Symantec employee replied saying you need to call Symantec support for help and that the database needs to be modified by Symantec to correct the failures.

Is this something I need to be concerned about? Their site says the Backup Exec database maintains a record of files and data that administrator have configured. What exactly are these files and data? Will it affect backup/restore functionality? Should I spend $250 dollars for a pay per incident phone support to get this issue resolved?

Do you have an update? I too am experiencing the same problems and would like to know what's at risk. I've followed other posts and performed rebuilds, repairs, restores, and changed the maintenance time, but no luck. Any update would be greatly appreciated.
