Exabyte Magnum 1x7 not recognized as robotic library

How do I configure BUE 9.1 to recognize the Exabyte Magnum 1x7 as a robotic library? It currently sees it as a stand alone drive.

When you did the install, did you select Library Support as one of the options?

If the library was added after the install, did you re-run TapeInst to load drivers for it?

Does the library show up in Device Manager with no errors?

The drive was connected when BUE was installed. I tried running install again and changing or adding options but robotic support was already installed. Device mgr looks OK.

Have you tried deleting it from BackupExec, then deleteing rom device manager, loading the MFG drivers and then re-running the BackupExec Hardware wizard amd telling it to use the installed drivers rather than load Veritas Drivers?

If you shut down all BackupExec services, does NTBackup see it properly?

(FWIW, http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/271383.htm says that this is a Tested Library)

Exabyte warns (pretty strongly) against loading their drivers for Windows native backup if you are going to use BUE. They say they are very difficult to uninstall. Any thoughts before I perform the tests suggested?
Thanks in advance,
Pete

Well, I guess I'd listen to Exabyte, but am out of suggestions at this point.

(It's difficult to uninstall drivers?)

Hello,

Thank you for updating us on this issue.

Also check the SCSI ID settings.

-- for eg.Set the SCSI ID of changer to 2 and tape drive to 3.

And verify the result.
