Exchange 2000 Restore - Checklist?.....

Nick_Taylor

Hi,

A bit of backgroud first...

We have an Exchange 2000 SP3 installation running on a Win2K Advanced Server SP4. This server has been used for many things in the past (but is now just an Exchange Server) and runs like a 3 legged donkey :( I want to do a fresh install of Win2K Server and Exchange on this machine so that all of the rubbish that has collected on it is no more.......

We are using BE10 with Exchange Agent and all appropriate patches

What I want to do......

I obviously don't want to do a system state restore as this would restore all of the registry rubbish etc so my plan of action is....

1) Install Win2k Server and all updates
2) Install BE10 with same patches as already installed
3) Follow Document ID 243297 - Exchange Disaster recovery using /disasterrecovery switch
4) That's it?

Am I being over- optimistic / simplistic with my theory? any help would be appreciated.....

Nick
