Exchange 2003 Information Store

How do I go about selecting my Exchange 2003 information store for backup? I have installed BE9.1 and the Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server. When I select backup from the menu, all I see is my exchange server and the following:

Drive C:
Drive D:
Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes
Microsoft Exchange Public Folders
Shadow Copy Components

On the Exchange Settings Tab I see:

Exchange Server Backup Method
Mailbox Backup Method

There are no other options to select on the tab.

What is required to backup the Exchange Information Store?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for your reply.

In viewing the article it states the following:

Additionally, Backup Exec must have access to a uniquely named mailbox within the Exchange organization.

The account I use (I always use for other non-exchange2003 backups) is a domain admin account that does not have a mailbox. Do I understand correctly that I will need to create a mailbox with the same name as the user account in order for me to be able to backup the information store? I also read other posts that indicate that I may have the wrong Exchange Agent installed. According to article 253590 BE has the following Exchange Agents available:

Exchange Server Agent - For Exch 5.5 only
Exchange 2000 Server Agent - For Exch 2000 and will also backup 5.5 & 2003
Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server - For Exch 2003 and will also backup 5.5 & 2000 (available in BE 10.x)

I have installed on my server the last one (I see it listed when going thru the install again as an existing serial number). Does this particular agent only work with BE 10.x?

Thanks again for responding to my question.

Have you installed the Exchange System manager (from the Exchange CD) on your Backup Exec server?

I beleive this is a requirement.

Hi,

You will need to create a mailbox with the same name as the user account in order for me to be able to backup the information store

Refer the technotes
