Exchange Agent Failure

Exchange backups are randomly failing with the following errors in event logs. Remainder logs are empty.

Information Store (3040) 3934de30-1082-46ac-86eb-7e6f59fa6399: Ending the backup of the file E:\Exchsrvr\Mdbdata\priv1.edb. Not all data in the file has been read (read 19328794624 bytes out of 72217276416 bytes).

Information Store (3040) 3934de30-1082-46ac-86eb-7e6f59fa6399: The backup has been stopped because it was halted by the client or the connection with the client failed.

NT Backups are successful....Vertias backups mostly fail.

Please update us on following :
-- Version Of BE ?
-- Version ans Service Pack installed of Exchange ?
-- what is the exact error message in Job log ?
-- Is exchange server a remote server ?

I am helping our location in Singapore. Below is information they furnished.

Version Of BE ----- 10D
-- Version ans Service Pack installed of Exchange
-- what is the exact error message in Job log - network connection to remote agent lost
-- Is exchange server a remote server --- yes... we are using exchange agent and remote agent to back it up
